The Marston Exploration Theater is located on the ASU Tempe campus, in the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building IV. The theater employs Definiti SkySkan Planetarium technology utilizing 4K projection systems that render Earth and Space Science themes in 3-D stereographic vision.

"The Edge of Exploration" is a one-hour live-narrated 3D astronomy experience in the Marston Exploration Theater on the ASU Tempe Campus. Join us as we journey from Earth, through the Solar System and beyond, to unlock the secrets of the Universe. Along the way, we feature the latest discoveries in space exploration, from satellites orbiting the Earth, to cameras orbiting the Moon, to space telescopes gathering light from distant objects beyond our galaxy. 

Times

  • Each Wednesday evening @ 7:30 p.m.
  • Each Saturday afternoon @ 2:30 p.m.

Cost

  • Adults/general admission $8.00
  • Student/Seniors/U.S. Military admission $6.50
  • ASU Staff: $6.00
  • Group of 12 or more $6.00. Please call 480-965-6891 or marston.programs@asu.edu to reserve group seating at least 72 hours in advance.

Location and parking

The Marston Exploration Theater is on the first floor of ASU's Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building IV (ISTB 4), the home of the School of Earth and Space Exploration. ISTB 4 is near the intersection of Rural and Terrace Road in Tempe on the east side of campus. This seven-story structure is ASU’s largest research facility and is accessible on foot via Orange Street and McAllister Avenue. If arriving by light rail, exit at the University and Rural Road stop.

The Rural Road parking structure is the closest parking to ISTB 4. Parking is available for $3 per hour inside the Rural Road parking structure. From the parking structure, walk west and enter ISTB 4 through the glass doors on the north side of the building. Please note that a parking fee is charged upon exit.
