The Inclusive Community Committee empowers an inclusive School of Earth and Space Exploration by facilitating and promoting individual action, dialog, education, long-term planning and systemic change.

ASU undergraduate astrophysics student Bryanna Gutierrez-Coatney has been awarded the School of Earth and Space Exploration's inaugural Seed Grant from the school’s Task Force supporting Inclusive Excellence. Gutierrez-Coatney’s award-winning proposal is an education initiative designed to build awareness of physics and Earth and space topics among students in Arizona’s Title 1 schools. School of Earth and Space Exploration teams were recently awarded four grants from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The grants are from the natural sciences division of The College and represent initiatives in the Charter Framework. Read about the four awarded projects and the students and faculty involved.
As part of Arizona State University’s Charter initiatives, The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has recently funded a project called Mutually Enriching Mentorship. “This project will both enhance graduate student experience and their sense of inclusion within the various schools. It will provide better mentoring because our faculty will learn more about student’s needs,” said Professor Hilairy Hartnett, one of the co-leads, who has a joint faculty position in the School of Molecular Sciences and the School of Earth and Space Exploration.
