Zhiang Chen is a Ph.D. student working with Dr. Jnaneshwar Das at Distributed Robotic Exploration and Mapping Systems (DREAMS) Laboratory. Zhiang’s research focuses on artificial intelligence and robotic exploration systems. Prior to joining the Arizona State University, he completed B.Eng. in Mechatronics at the Central South University (China) and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Case Western Reserve University. During his Master’s study, he worked with Dr. Wyatt Newman and researched on algorithmic robotics and deep learning, with a final thesis about deep learning approaches to graspable object recognition.
