Research Interests

I am broadly interested in discovering universal properties of life, which are properties that can be applied to all life here on Earth as well as to life on other planets. I focus directly on the homochirality of life, where one chemical isomer is favored over another in roughly 65% of biochemical reactions. Homochirality is found throughout life, and I am exploring its evolutionary basis in order to assess its potential universality.
