EPIC: the Earth and Planetary Interiors Colloquium

EPIC Mission

EPIC is a new School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE) initiative to bring speakers who are doing exciting new research in geophysics, and to promote discussion of that research in a casual setting where ideas can be freely exchanged.

EPIC Communications

The essence of science is communication. EPIC will facilitate discussion of new results, ideas, and concepts to the SESE community through a speaker series hosted at Arizona State University, and beyond via Internet media distribution of EPIC seminars. EPIC will also enable direct interaction between high-profile members of the scientific community and SESE students, researchers, and faculty.

EPIC Opportunities

EPIC is funded through individual, group, and corporate contributions. All contributions become part of the permanent EPIC fund. The EPIC fund has been initiated through a generous initial donation, but until the fund reaches the goal of $25,000 it cannot be converted into a permanent endowment that funds speakers in perpetuity. Of course, we won’t stop there - a larger EPIC endowment means that more speakers can be invited! This is a highly targeted program – your contributions will have a direct, positive effect on the geophysics and planetary physics programs within SESE.
